Relief
Okay since my last journal entry on February 20, 2007 my life had changed for the worst. A lot of things happened and some good things did happen too. First of all I can't really remember much before April, it's all kinda foggy.
On April 28th 2007 I had a brain hemorrhage. During the week before I had huge headaches and vomiting. I remember having some food and then a hour later I started to throw up a lot. I just let the thought go by and think of it as some bad food I ate or the 24 hour flu. During that week I had huge headaches, but the Advil seemed to keep them down enough so I could go to school.
Now on Thursday April 27th 2007, I remember playing soccer with some of my friends on my lunch hour, everything was going well, but I got a headache as usual for that week and went to my locker to get some Advil.
The dooms day was somewhere between a 24 hour period starting on April 28th. I remember my dad telling me he was going out, that's around 6:00 AM EST. But I would never get ready for school that early so I slept in some more. Roughly around a hour later I was awoken by my friend Alex who called me up and asked me if I was going to school, I said sure, and told him I'd meet him at the bus stop in half an hour. Within 10 minutes of getting up, I went to the shave, brush my teeth, then go use the shower.... The headache came again.
Sometime around March of 2006 I got hit in the head with a baseball bat. And I was in the hospital for maybe 12 hours. They stitched me up did a X-ray, they said I was "A-Okay."
But the pain from that baseball bat felt like a I had a orgasm compared to my headache that morning. I didn't pass out, but remember I was in the shower when I had the initial brain hemorrhage (which wasn't known until later.) I didn't fall in the tub, but rather I had just gotten down slowly and laded down, I felt so weak, I couldn't move or get up.
When my dad came home I couldn't walk. He had to help me out of the tub and put me on my bed. I kept on throwing up all morning long. So my dad, like any parent took me to the doctor's office a hour later. The doctor gave me some pain killers for my headaches and some pills to help with the nausea. But right before we left the doctor looked at me and said I should go to the hospital.
The pills he prescribed me worked fantastic, so I said I feel okay, and don't need to go to the hospital. But I kept on throwing up during the night, for some odd reason, and the headaches kinda stayed down, but like anyone I linked the headaches with the strain and stress from throwing up.
In the morning, that would be Saturday April 29th 2007 I woke up, couldn't move my neck. My mother stayed the night and seen me in bed first. My Adam's Apple was protruding out and two veins on the front of my neck we're protruding as well and they were solid.
We then went to go to the hospital and then they all thought it was meningitis, but after the CT Scan I had it proved it wasn't. After they recognized it was a bleed, I was immediately rushed down to another hospital that has a neurosurgery department. They we're ready to cut open my head and start working, but after the second CT they seen that it was just like a small leakage, nothing serious, the initial bleed only happened for a instant sometime on April 28th, that's it.
So I stayed a three weeks there, monitoring me, having three angiograms where they put a catheter up through a vein in my leg up to my head to take pictures.
When I was released and stayed at home I had tons and tons of teddy bears and money and chocolates and stuff. But after a week at home I was taken back to the hospital for a good reason. I was scheduled to have radiation treatment to get rid of the week vein that broke. That happened sometime in mid-July. I had the treatment with the Gamma knife, which isn't a actual knife but like individual rays that connect at one point.
Now since then on September 6th, 2007 I'm still well.. bald. But I'm alive.
I am getting homeschooled, starting soon. So that will leave me tons and tons of time to get started back on dA. Thank you all guys.
